2005年間，萬丹有一對苦瓜農夫婦，因人生中的瓶頸而與我相識，試圖能尋求一圓融的出口。而其中的一項，即是常年收成不順的苦瓜。因其為虔誠的佛教徒，故對於農藥所造成的殺業極為忐忑，與不殺而造成農害的兩難實為困擾。
我鼓勵他們以感恩的心對待苦瓜及蟲子們，且蟲害農藥減量，並施以有機肥。下田時，播ＣＤ〜《無住》給苦瓜聽，並與眾生分享。如是，其苦瓜的收成不但變大、變多、變漂亮，其採收季亦增加了好幾個月。而他們自身更覺得不可思議的，是2006年萬丹水災三、四天退後，此苦瓜亦活得好好的，而周邊的苦瓜田全部陣亡（據說苦瓜頭淹水十公分即不能存活）！
心性的能量不可思議！而這一般人覺得不可思議的狀態卻是我們的日常生活。且我們運用心性能量自利利他也已行之有年，而長年來引導啟發有緣人之心性本能亦不可指數 。苦瓜農也只是一剛上道的例子，即便他們這一兩年來的各方面已改善很多，亦期望他們能趁勝追擊，開創出更美好的人生！也期望大家能以純淨純善的力量來化解世界的衝突，期望世界的和平康寧！

In 2005, a couple of bitter gourd peasants
got to know me due to the choke point in their life; they tried to look for a
harmonious solution. One of their problems was that they had been facing with
the bad harvests of the bitter gourd perennially. They didn’t hope to use
pesticide to kill worms and bugs because they are devout Buddhist. They would
feel perturbed by using pesticide. But if they didn’t do so, the harvest would
be bad.
I encouraged them to treat the bitter gourd,
worms and bugs with a grateful heart by reducing the dosage of pesticide, applying organic fertilizer, playing
Yuan He Miao Yin from the album Impermanence for the bitter gourd, and sharing it with other beings. By
doing so, not only did the
bitter gourd grow
bigger and more beautiful, but also the crop of it became better and the harvest season lasted several
months more. What made the couple more astonished was that in 2006, a flood in
Wandan in Taiwan, the bitter gourds were in the water for three to four days.
The bitter gourd fields around the couple’s were all wrecked but their bitter
gourds were still alive.(It
is said that the bitter gourd will die if its root
is ten centimeters under water.)
The power of self-nature is amazing! However,
the state of incredibility is
around our daily life. We have helped others and benefited ourselves by putting the power of self-nature to use for
many years. There are countless people who have been instructed and inspired as
well. The bitter gourd peasant’s story is just one example of the power of self-nature.
Even though the bitter
gourd couple have made significant progress in all aspects in life in the past one to two years, we hope that they
could push their advantage to make life more splendid. Wish everyone can defuse
the world conflicts by the power of pureness and kindness. May the world peace!

In 2005, a peasant couple who grew bitter gourd populated in Wandan,
Taiwan. They got to visit me because they were in a dilemma at that time. They
tried to find a harmonious way to solve their agonies. One of their agonies was
that it was hard on a tiny stipend when the bitter gourd kept failing all the
time. The couple were devout Buddhists. Therefore, they felt perturbed, when
applying pesticide to killing pests. However, the bitter gourd would be damaged
without pesticide application. To do or not to do, it is bewilderment to them.
I encouraged
the peasant couple to treat the bitter gourd, worms and bugs with a grateful heart from then on, they began reducing the dosage
of pesticide as well as applying organic fertilizer. At the same time, I also
suggested them, when farming, they could play Yuan He Miao Yin—“Impermanence”
for the bitter gourd and other beings. By doing so, not only did the bitter
gourd grow bigger and more beautiful, but also it grew better. What's more, the
harvesting season of bitter gourd extended for many months. What surprised the
couple most was that the
flood of 2006 in Wandan covered the area for three to four days, but their
bitter gourds were still alive and well while other bitter gourd fields around theirs
were all wrecked. (It is said that bitter gourd is UNABLE TO SURVIVE in floods
beyond 10 cm.)
For many
people, how the awesome power of self-nature it is! Nevertheless, the
incredible power is common to me, and full of my everyday life. Furthermore, I have been
applying the power of self-nature to benefitting others and myself for years.
These years, innumerable people
have been enlightened their power of self-nature. Actually, the story about the
bitter gourd growers is just one example of the power of marvelous self-nature
in my early years when those confused people consulted me how to solve their
anguish in life. Even though the bitter gourd couple have made significant
progress in all aspects of life in the past year or two, I sincerely hope that
they progressively take their advantage to make life better and better. Also,
wish everyone can resolve his or her conflicts in the world with the power of
pureness and kindness. MAY THE WORLD PEACE!
